About Donna
Hi Folks Do you love stories like I do? I have four novels, a novella and, most recently, a nonfiction self-help book published. And I've done it all myself. I have not submitted my work for traditional publishing because I wanted to keep creative control, and more of the royalties. It has taken me hundreds of hours to learn the processes of writing, editing, and self-publishing, but I love it! You see, I'm a lifelong learner and a passionate educator. I am a qualified teacher and trainer, including English as Another Language (EAL) and have taught students from six to seventy-six in formal educational institutions as well as in business, and privately. I started writing at a very young age because I just love stories so much. Then my daughter grew up with a steady supply of bedtime stories I would make up on the spot. They just poured out of my head. "Mum," she would say, "You need to write them down!" It's so empowering to see your story out there, being read by others, and it can be quite impactful for the reader as well. It provides a depth of connection and fun, and a level of creativity that can be tremendously uplifting and healing. If you choose to work with me, you will find I am sensitive, creative, an excellent communicator, and very reliable. I like to keep the process moving ahead in a lighthearted, and fun way. It is such an empowering experience and one you will never regret. I am a self-published author with broad experience in education and training with individuals and groups ranging in age from 6 to 76. My career has included teaching English as a foreign language, teaching in secondary schools, vocational colleges and at university. I also have a number of self-published works under pen names. I bring kindness, patience, humor, and a passion for learning. I listen and ask questions to make sure the coaching sessions are carefully crafted to address your concerns and learning goals. These days I'm mostly writing, but I miss being involved in the learning process. That's why I'm offering my services for a limited number of hours per week. You do not have to pay thousands to a 'vanity press' to have them publish your book for you. There are many helpful tools and tips I can introduce you to that are free or inexpensive. Whether you have a finished manuscript hiding under your bed, or are yet to write the first words, with my help, you can get your book up for sale on Amazon and beyond. This includes ebook and paperback formats. Or you can choose to simply have it formatted, professionally printed, and distributed to family and friends.
