About Kristina
As an instructor, I have taught over 35 courses to undergraduate BA and BFA as well as MA and MFA students covering contemporary art, art history, curatorial studies, and critical writing in the US (California College of the Arts, Western Washington University), Canada (Emily Carr University, Banff Centre for the Arts), and Sweden (Malmö Art Academy). At the California College of the Arts, my students won All College Writing Awards for four out of the five years I taught there. As an editor, I have collaborated with curators and critics to write long form essays for magazines, exhibition catalogues, and books in the US, Canada, and Mexico. And, as a writer, I have contributed to over 25 publications, including magazines and books that I have edited. My work has also taken me around the world to present on topics in contemporary art, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Alexandria Contemporary Arts Forum in Egypt, Arco Art Fair in Madrid, and the Power Plant in Toronto, among others.

I work with students to identify areas in need of improvement and then help to build skills toward greater capability in critical thinking, reading, writing, and presenting on art. At the same time, I try to find areas of interest for students so that their lessons stimulate and inspire them.

Kristina was an amazing professor! I had her for a 400-level Art History writing class and she gave such amazing feedback on my individual assignments and essays. She’s really able to pinpoint the exact aspects of your writing that you need to improve upon and gives you resources to further that improvement. She’s extremely knowledgeable, encourages discussion and dialogue, and is a fabulous teacher overall. Her class was one of my favorites it college!
Kristina is excellent at guiding students on how to tangibly improve their academic writing. As her student, she provided concrete steps and methods for strengthening my thesis writing, research development, and sentence structure. Her genuine attention to and care for her individual student's abilities, needs, and interests makes her a pleasure to work with.
Kristina is an amazing professor and tutor. She taught the first class I ever took in college and was so kind and welcoming. She did an incredible job at teaching new students how to properly analyze complex pieces of work, carry out insightful discussions and debates, and maintained a safe, inclusive, and accessible environment for all students.
Kristina is one of my favorite instructors due to her ability to explain difficult concepts and give constructive feedback. I feel as if she has had the most impact on my writing with her teaching and I so truly appreciate all of her notes. I would highly recommend her as an instructor.
Kristina was one of my first professors entering college, in a seminar about anti-racism in contemporary art. Her teaching encouraged me to engage with the material and willingly participate during class, even as a typically shy student. She is extremely knowledgeable, and her patience coupled with intelligence helps create a safe and dynamic learning experience. She really made me feel excited to learn again (even in an online course). Overall, her class stuck with me more than any other that year!
