About Elizabeth
I have a decade of experience teaching in the literary and performing arts. Most recently I worked as a Teaching Fellow at Boston University where I taught Intro to Creative Writing. I also work as an Editorial Assistant for a Literary Magazine. For three years, I was a literary arts and expression teacher for neurodivergent teens at an alternative high school. I have taught theater, playwrighting and dance classes for several youth theaters in New York City. There, I also worked as a freelance creative mentor on plays and spoken word performance.

I can support my clients from wherever they are in their writing process, from conception and cohesion to proofreading. I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Boston University, where I also worked as a teaching fellow. I have experience supporting college aged students in academic writing as well as high school students in their college admissions essays. I have experience working as an English teacher for neurodivergent teens and am familiar with student IEP plans. In addition to writing, I have a performance background and can provide services as a public speaking and rhetoric coach.
As a tutor, I prioritize getting to know each student's writing or speech goals. In a typical session, I would expect that the student has an assignment or writing project which they need coaching on. I will provide written feedback and edits on all projects, as well as the option for 1:1 video support. The types of writing that I teach are: academic writing, essay writing, admission essay coaching, speech writing, cover letters, theses, literary criticism, and personal creative projects. I provide grammar instruction and editorial support within my sessions and feedback.
