About Guilherme
I recently completed my PhD at the School of Earth & Environmental Sciences in the University of Queensland. I am a marine biologist who worked for several years with marine pollution bioremediation using marine bacteria. On my PhD research, I applied the same techniques and microorganisms to rehabilitate soil after coal mining in Central Queensland. I am passionate about marine science and sustainable solutions for environmental problems. Before coming to Australia in 2019, I was teaching biology and working on the promotion of STEM culture and scientific fairs in Brazilian schools.
