About Zia
I have over four years of experience tutoring Biology, and I hold a BA in Biology. I enjoy working with students who are curious about virology and infectious diseases. Together, we explore viral replication cycles and how viruses interact with host cells. I also explain how the immune system responds to different pathogens in a clear and approachable way. Epidemiological principles are a key focus, and I use current global health examples to make learning relevant. I help students understand how diseases spread and how prevention strategies are designed. My lessons combine theory with practical applications, giving students a real-world perspective. I encourage critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning in every session. I guide students through assignments and exam preparation with patience and clarity. My teaching approach in Biology is centred on helping students truly understand the complexity and beauty of life. I cover core topics like evolutionary biology, natural selection, speciation, and phylogenetics, connecting them to practical examples. I also integrate related areas such as ecology, genetics, and comparative anatomy to give a complete picture. Lessons focus on critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning, encouraging students to ask questions and analyse data. I make challenging concepts accessible using simple explanations and real-world case studies. I also include elements of food chemistry and green chemistry to show how biology applies to daily life and sustainability. Students are guided step by step in exam preparation and assignments, gaining clarity and confidence. I emphasise understanding over memorisation, so knowledge sticks long-term. Practical exercises and discussions help refine their reasoning skills. My goal is to make each student feel capable of explaining complex ideas clearly. By exploring life’s diversity and evolution, students gain confidence in discussing biology’s grand narrative. I am dedicated to supporting them in excelling academically and in their future careers.
