I believe that language learning should be an active adventure, not a passive chore. My teaching philosophy is entirely learner-centered, moving away from rigid, repetitive grammar drills and focusing instead on Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and Task-Based Learning.
Natural Context & High Engagement: I turn complex grammar concepts into natural, real-world conversations. To keep young minds fully engaged, I frequently integrate fascinating real-world themes—such as marine biology, zoology, and nature—into our vocabulary and reading exercises.
Active Interaction: I utilize the PPP (Presentation, Practice, Production) framework alongside robust TPR (Total Physical Response), vibrant visual props, and digital rewards. I aim for a 70/30 Student-to-Teacher Talking Time (STT) ratio, ensuring my students are doing most of the speaking and building genuine communicative confidence.
Typical Lesson Structure & Length
Lesson Duration: Standard classes are 25 or 45 minutes long, depending on the student's age, attention span, and specific learning goals.
The Lesson Flow:
Warm-up (3–5 mins): A fun, high-energy interactive game or conversation to build rapport and activate prior knowledge.
Target Language (15–20 mins): Introducing new vocabulary or grammar through interactive, themed stories and scaffolded guided practice.
Production & Extension (10–15 mins): The student applies what they learned through communicative tasks, roleplay, or a creative summary.
Wrap-up & Feedback (3 mins): Celebrating the student's successes and assigning a light, tailored homework task to reinforce the day's lesson.
