About Alec
I am a Physics tutor with 9 years of experience and an MPhil in Physics. I have taught over 300 students from GCSE through to undergraduate level. My lessons cover mechanics, electromagnetism, waves, thermodynamics, quantum, and nuclear physics. I am passionate about making Physics conceptually clear and mathematically rigorous for every student. My approach is patient, systematic, and adapted to each student's level and examination requirements. I have helped students achieve excellent results at A-Level and university level. My Physics lessons develop both physical understanding and mathematical problem-solving ability simultaneously in a systematic and progressive way throughout every session. Every lesson reviews previous concepts and problems to identify remaining confusion before new material is built. Mechanics covers kinematics, dynamics, energy, momentum, and circular motion with rigorous mathematical treatment alongside clear physical explanation. Electromagnetism develops electric and magnetic field theory, circuit analysis, and electromagnetic induction. Thermodynamics covers gas laws, internal energy, and heat transfer through real physical examples. Quantum physics is introduced with careful experimental grounding before mathematical formalism. Nuclear physics covers decay, reactions, fission, and fusion with both conceptual and quantitative treatment. Past paper questions are integrated throughout every lesson. I coach students on calculation structure and unit analysis for full examination marks. Structured notes and problem sets are provided after every session. My goal is for every student to approach Physics with genuine physical and mathematical confidence.
