About Natalia
I am an experienced and passionate language teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience. I am a former Head of the Languages Department at an independent school in London, where I taught Spanish and French from Year 7 to Year 13. I am currently a Principal Examiner for a UK exam board, which gives me a deep understanding of what students need to succeed in GCSE, A Level, and IB examinations. Originally from Portugal, I hold a degree in Portuguese, Spanish and French Language and Literature, a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages, and a Master’s in the Education of Languages. Over the years, I have helped students of all ages and backgrounds — from school pupils to adult professionals — achieve excellent results and gain confidence using Spanish in real-life situations. As a multilingual speaker of Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English, I understand the challenges of learning a new language and how to make lessons effective and enjoyable. My students describe me as patient, supportive, and highly organised. I tailor each lesson to the learner’s goals, ensuring steady progress through a mix of structured practice, conversation, and cultural insights.

I am a highly qualified and experienced Portuguese tutor, former Head of Languages at a leading independent London school and a Principal examiner for a UK based exam board. I have over 15 years of experience teaching Portuguese from beginner to advanced level, including GCSE, A level, IB, and professional learners. My lessons are fully tailored to each student’s goals. Whether you’re preparing for exams, improving your fluency, or learning Spanish for travel or business, I create a personalised plan to help you make rapid progress. My approach is communicative and structured: lessons combine speaking practice, grammar in context, listening and reading skills, and targeted feedback on pronunciation and writing. I use authentic materials (articles, videos, podcasts) to make learning engaging and relevant to real life.
