About Matthew
I have over 14 years of experience teaching mathematics and physics, from elementary levels through Calculus III and calculus-based physics. I help students build strong foundations and develop advanced problem-solving skills. Beyond the classroom, I bring real-world experience as a scientist at NASA and as a leader of a technical engineering team in Puerto Rico, where we designed a bio-aerosol detection device. This combination of teaching and industry experience allows me to connect concepts to practical applications, helping students understand both the ‘how’ and the ‘why’ behind what they are learning.

I believe students learn best when they are challenged to think for themselves and discover the process behind each problem. In my lessons, I encourage students to work independently while I guide them with clear steps and strategies that lead to the right solutions. My goal is not just to help students get the correct answers, but to show them how to approach problems with confidence and critical thinking. This way, they build the skills and independence needed to succeed in physics, math, chemistry, and statistics—and to carry those problem-solving abilities into future challenges as well.
