About Summer
I’m a piano tutor with over 14 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Piano. Music has always been my passion, especially composing and songwriting. I love sharing that passion with my students in a fun and engaging way. My teaching style is personalized to fit every learner, whether you’re a school student, college student, adult, or professional. I focus on building strong skills in chord theory, performance, sight-reading, and improvisation. These areas are essential for becoming a confident and versatile pianist. I’ve worked with students at all levels—from intermediate and advanced to professional and expert. My goal is to help you grow your skills and enjoy every step of the learning process. I believe that learning piano should be exciting and rewarding. I tailor each lesson to your pace and musical interests. Whether you want to play jazz, classical, or your own songs, I’m here to guide you. Together, we’ll unlock your full potential at the piano. My piano teaching approach focuses on building musical fluency step by step. I start by helping students learn how to read music clearly. Then, I guide them in playing expressively, so their music feels alive and personal. Understanding musical structure is also important, so I include rhythm drills and finger exercises to strengthen those skills. We spend time interpreting songs to bring out their unique emotions. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s pace and goals. I listen carefully and adjust what we work on, making sure they always feel comfortable and challenged. For young students with strong potential, I provide extra support to help them grow quickly and confidently. For serious learners aiming to perform classical pieces, I focus on technique and expression to help them shine. Patience and encouragement are key in my teaching style. I want every student to feel proud of their progress. Together, we build a solid foundation in piano playing. This approach makes learning enjoyable and rewarding. It’s about more than just notes — it’s about making music come alive.
