About Danko
I started playing guitar in 2019, and I IMMEDIATELY tackled the most complex songs I could find. Although I really enjoyed playing, I started from level 13 when I should have started on level 1, which affected me later on. As I focused on super advanced techniques, I did not have the basics, which made my learning ten times slower. Shortly after the pandemic, having collected hours on Spotify dedicated purely to Pink Floyd and David Gilmour, I realized that sometimes less is more, and it's not about being super flashy and playing songs at x1000 speed. I would much rather play something that hooks the listener and surprises them from time to time than oversaturate their ears almost instantly with one sonic shockwave of percussive fingerstyle playing. So I decided to start from scratch. The pandemic hadn't really been my friend either, so when I found out that playing from the heart and mind with expression helped me release all those emotions, I realized what music really was; a language, a reflection of who we are. When we play, we mirror ourselves in sound.

Music is a language, a medium through which we can express those things we have no words for. My approach is through expression, to teach you to use the instrument as an extension of your very self so you can play exactly what you're thinking and feeling. It's not about playing super fast or highly difficult riffs, it's about being -heard-. I focus on each student's strengths, nurturing them and making them grow. If a student has trouble with theory, I'm not going to give them books to swallow. If a student has a fine ear and intuition, the classes will focus on creative freedom and how to use that intuition in their favor. The classes are online meetings, one hour long, and meant for everyone and anyone wanting to learn to play guitar. If you are willing to learn to play, I will happily play along. NOTE: I tend to use other meeting platforms, like Google Meet and even Discord, mainly due to sound quality and online complications. This is flexible and also depends on the student. This explains the low activity and student count on my profile.
