About Riza Franchesca
Born in Manila, in the Philippines (where English is one of the official languages), my name is Franchesca and I am currently studying FLE (level C1) at the University of Nantes. Besides my studies, I take advantage by giving English lessons to all who are interested in it.
I graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in European studies (specialization in international relations) from the University of the Ateneo de Manila (#1 in the Philippines according to the Times Higher Education WUR rankings). Before moving here to France, I worked as a research assistant and editor for an academic journal in English. I also did an internship at the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines during my college years.
As I am of Hispanic-Filipino descent, I grew up speaking three native languages (English, Tagalog and Spanish). I became passionate about languages and it is for this reason that I also developed a keen interest in teaching others.

About this course:
My teaching techniques and methods are personalized to each student and correspond to the goal, age, interests and level of each. However, I require all my students to master basic knowledge (personal and possessive pronouns, most used verbs, articles, pronunciation) in an interactive and progressive way at the end of my lessons. I will also share with you different tips and tricks based off of your learning style (eg trying repetition, watching series or movies, listening to songs, trying tongue twisters etc.)
I offer two types of sessions: Either face-to-face sessions at your home / in an agreed location for those who live in Nantes or Rezé or online sessions (in distance) on GoogleMeet for those who live in other places.
IMPORTANT: We will try to implement an english-only policy during our sessions.
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for students who are about to take a standardized English test (e.g., TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS), those who work in an environment where the use of English is absolutely necessary, or those who just want to learn a new language.

Thank you for your active participation in today and last week's session. I really appreciate your energy and your eagerness to learn.
I think you can work on the following to reach your target Band Score for the IELTS Writing Tasks:
1. Repetition: This would be a good way to memorise all the connectors and the structures of the IELTS tasks. Try to answer the same exercises again and again until it becomes automatic for you!
2. Speed: Managing time is important in acing the IELTS. I have included suggested time allotments for each step in completing the tasks for your guidance.
3. Vocabulary: Looking at the prompts and giving as many synonyms as possible is an excellent way to improve your vocabulary.
That would be all for now. Make sure to send me the exercises when you have free time so I could give you some feedback.

Franchesca a été incroyable pour m'aider à apprendre l'anglais. Lors de nos sessions, elle m'a beaucoup aidé à parler d'une manière plus anglophone en m'aidant à bien structurer mes phrases, à me faire travailler mon accent facilement ou encore éviter des erreurs plus basiques que peuvent faire les français en général. Elle est très à l'écoute de comment je veux apprendre ou de quoi je veux discuter et s'adapte très facilement. Son anglais peut être de très technique à plus basique si nécessaire. Elle a même un bon niveau en français et peut aussi m'aider lorsque je n'arrive pas à traduire certain mots. C'est une personne dynamique avec laquelle il est très agréable de parler.
