I'm Theo, and when I'm not diving into the world of tutoring, you might catch me swimming laps, at a tennis court, or playing on my guitar. But a hobby bringing me just as much joy if not more, teaching. It's not just about sharing knowledge—it's about seeing that spark of understanding and excitement in a student's eyes. I pride myself on a unique, student-focused approach to tutoring. Recognizing that each child possesses a distinct learning style, I customize my lessons to cater to individual needs. Instead of a one-size-fits-all methodology, I emphasize active engagement. This entails not just passive listening, but immersing the student in discussions, quizzes, and hands-on applications of the material.
Every lesson, typically spanning 60 minutes, starts with a stimulating warm-up activity designed to activate prior knowledge and set the tone. The majority of our time is spent delving deeply into the subject matter, enriched with multimedia resources. We then transition to a practice session, applying freshly learned concepts, and wind down with a reflection phase where all doubts are clarified.
Regarding my qualifications, I am a dedicated university student with over 2 years of hands-on experience tutoring children. My academic foundation is robust, complemented by continuous professional development via workshops and courses. While I specialize in tutoring Maths up to the GCSE level (for ages 15/16), I am equally adept at offering general tutoring for children up to 13.
