About Reginald
Hello! My name is Reginald, and I am a final year Biosystems Engineering student with a passion for both mathematics and physics. I have been tutoring elementary and middle school students for over two years, helping them improve their understanding and performance in these subjects.
I decided to pursue teaching because I have always been fascinated by the way math and physics explain the world around us. These subjects are not just about numbers and formulas; they are about problem-solving, critical thinking, and discovering how things work. I want to share this passion with my students and help them see the beauty and relevance of these subjects in everyday life.
Teaching allows me to make a positive impact on young minds, helping them build confidence and achieve their academic goals. I believe that every student has the potential to excel with the right guidance and support. By making learning interactive and enjoyable, I aim to inspire my students to develop a love for math and physics, just as I have. My goal is to empower them with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their studies and beyond

Approach to Tutoring and Teaching Methodology
As a final year Biosystems Engineering student, I bring a strong foundation in both mathematics and physics to my tutoring sessions. My approach to tutoring is centered around making complex concepts accessible and engaging for elementary and middle school students. Here’s a detailed look at my methodology:
Techniques and Teaching Methodology:
Conceptual Understanding: I focus on ensuring students grasp the underlying concepts rather than just memorizing formulas or procedures. I use real-world examples and applications to make abstract ideas more tangible.
Interactive Lessons: My lessons are highly interactive, encouraging students to ask questions and participate actively. I use visual aids, such as diagrams and videos, to enhance understanding.
Step-by-Step Problem Solving: I guide students through problems step-by-step, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills. I emphasize the importance of showing work and understanding each step in the process.
Personalized Learning: I tailor my teaching strategies to each student’s learning style and pace. By identifying their strengths and areas for improvement, I create customized lesson plans that address their specific needs.
Regular Assessments: I incorporate regular quizzes and assessments to track progress and identify areas that need further reinforcement. Feedback is provided promptly to help students understand their mistakes and learn from them.
Typical Length of a Lesson:
A typical lesson lasts about 60 minutes. This duration is optimal for maintaining focus and engagement while allowing enough time to cover topics in depth. For younger students or those with shorter attention spans, I may adjust the length of the lesson to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor:
Academic Background: As a final year Biosystems Engineering student, I have a solid grounding in mathematics and physics, both of which are integral to my field of study.
Tutoring Experience: I have over two years of experience tutoring elementary and middle school students. I have successfully helped students improve their grades and build confidence in their math and physics abilities.
Additional Skills: My engineering background equips me with strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset, which I pass on to my students. I am also proficient in using educational technology and resources to enhance the learning experience.
Who Are My Lessons For:
Level: My lessons are designed for elementary and middle school students, ranging from basic arithmetic and introductory physics to more advanced topics appropriate for their grade levels.
Age: I primarily tutor students aged 6 to 14. I am experienced in adapting my teaching methods to suit the developmental stages and learning needs of different age groups.
