About Hannah
I have been helping my neighbours and younger relatives with English homework and revision since the age of 14.
In 2015, I participated in a TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) course. This allowed me to recap grammatical points and will give me the chance to teach English abroad after completing my degree.
Most recently, I tutored an underconfident GCSE student through his English Literature coursework and exams. By encouraging him to write with clarity and helping him to use more complex ideas, he achieved two grades above his expected target level.
These experiences have taught me that encouraging students to realize their own potential is just as important as being engaging and interactive when teaching content.

I am an outgoing and empathetic final year student studying English at the University of Exeter (predicted a high 2:1). I have always had a passion for reading and writing (A* in English Literature A-Level) , but completely understand that studying English isn't everyone's cup of tea or particularly easy at times!
I give English Literature and Language lessons to a range of children from KS1-A-Level and hope to boost students' confidence as well as teach fun, interactive lessons.
My lessons are structured around a student's subject syllabus and mark-scheme to ensure that all content covered is directly relevant to coursework and exams. More specifically, I will ask each student about the topics, techniques and themes that they would like to prioritize.
I like to work collaboratively with my students and intend to create an environment where they feel comfortable to voice their academic concerns and offer topic suggestions.
