About Nicole
My passion for teaching is rooted in both my academic background in psychology and my hands-on experience working with students across diverse settings. Through my time as a private tutor at Academy Pret, I developed and delivered tailored lesson materials to help students grasp complex psychological concepts, which deepened my appreciation for making learning accessible and engaging. This was further reinforced during my internship with the Ministry of Education, where I progressed from observing Literature and English classes to independently conducting a lesson on argumentative writing. That experience affirmed my ability to connect with students and adapt teaching methods to different learning needs.
Beyond formal teaching roles, my involvement in community initiatives—such as mentoring disadvantaged youths through the YEAH Mentoring Programme and teaching students with ADHD and learning disabilities at the Young Women’s Christian Association—has shaped my belief that education is a powerful tool for empowerment and social mobility. These experiences taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of fostering a supportive learning environment where students feel confident to participate and grow.
