About Ikram
I am a dedicated medical student and passionate educator with a wealth of experience in teaching and mentoring. Currently, I’m in my fourth year as a mature medical student in the UK, bringing with me a rich background in secondary school science education.
Before entering medical school, I trained as a science teacher for students aged 11-18, which sparked my passion for education and helping students achieve their academic goals. My extensive teaching experience has given me a deep understanding of student needs and effective teaching strategies.
My academic journey has been driven by a commitment to excellence and continuous learning. I hold a first-class bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science from Roehampton University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Science Education from Brunel University London, and I recently completed a Bachelor's of Medical Sciences from Nottingham University.
Throughout my academic career, I’ve taken on various leadership roles that have allowed me to develop essential skills. As Vice President of the Medical Society, I organised social and academic events, including the annual MedBall and specialist speaker sessions, which significantly enhanced my organisational, communication, and event-planning abilities. In addition to my studies, I work as a carer for the elderly on weekends. In this role, I assist service users with daily activities such as preparing meals, administering medication, and providing companionship.
This work has deepened my compassion and patience and sharpened my problem-solving and communication skills—qualities that are crucial in both caregiving and tutoring.
I am dedicated to providing personalised and effective tutoring that fosters a love of learning and boosts confidence. With my rich academic background and diverse teaching experience, I am well-equipped to help students achieve their academic success.

I base my lessons on the objectives that are required to pass exams. I think it is important to expose students to as many exam questions as possible and to spend more time on their problem areas. My lessons are student-centred.
