About Preethi
I'm Preethi, a final-year medical student at the University of East Anglia, born and schooled in Norwich. I took Biology, Chemistry and Maths at Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form and got an A in each, after grade 9s in GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and Geography. I scored in the top 10% nationally on the UCAT.
After my A-levels I spent a full academic year as a student subject mentor at my old sixth form, running one-to-one and group sessions online and in person, and reporting progress back to teachers. That year taught me how to find the one missing idea behind "I'm just bad at this" and turn it into marks.
Alongside my degree I work front-of-house in a physiotherapy clinic and have spent more than eight years in patient-facing roles, so I'm used to explaining complicated things calmly to people of all ages. I hold an Enhanced DBS check through UEA Medical School, and parents are always welcome to sit in on sessions.

Every session is planned around your exam board and specification (AQA, Edexcel or OCR) and the grade you actually need. We start from a recent paper or mock, find the questions that went wrong, and fix the idea underneath rather than the individual question.
GCSE Physics is where most students lose marks on method rather than knowledge: rearranging equations, units and standard form, reading graphs, the required practicals, and the six-mark extended questions. We cover forces and motion, electricity, energy, waves, magnetism and the particle model in the order your specification uses, and I show you how each equation is actually tested. I also teach the Physics content of Combined Science for students taking the double award.
You leave each hour with a short, realistic list of what to practise before the next one. Parents get a clear note on what we covered.
Lessons are one hour, one-to-one, online over Google Meet or in person in Norwich, weekday evenings and weekends. The first 30 minutes is free, so we can talk through goals and exam boards before you pay for anything. Packs of five or ten hours are discounted.

Preethi, really helped me through my GCSE's, I was especially struggling with certain concepts in physics and chemistry but Preethi really slowed down and helped me work through the misconceptions till I fully understood it and it showed in my results. I've watched Preethi tutor for a couple of years now, both from the year she spent as a subject mentor at her old sixth form and since. What stands out is how she works: she doesn't start by re-teaching a topic, she starts with the student's last paper, finds the two or three ideas that are actually missing, and fixes those. She's calm and patient with nervous students, she knows the current AQA, Edexcel and OCR specifications because she sat them recently herself, and she sends a clear note after every session on what to practise next. For anyone applying to medicine, having a final-year medical student who scored in the top 10% on the UCAT and went through the interviews herself is hard to beat.
