About Mimi

I have always loved sharing my love of learning with others. As a lover of languages and reading, I appreciate that these skills can be hard to learn. I absolutely love being given the chance to share my passion and knowledge with those who may be struggling, in the hopes that they find more enjoyment and ease in the subjects I like so much. I think it is important to make learning as accessible as possible, and my experience tutoring children from such a range of ages has encouraged me to share my own knowledge with others in order to do so, volunteering as an outreach officer at my college and a reading mentor during school. I would love to hopefully help you feel more confident and gain the skills to help you succeed.

About the lesson

As a very friendly and reliable teacher, my lessons will provide a safe space for you to address specific areas of concern for us to work on together. I have worked with students from a range of ages, from helping 11+ applicants with extra literacy and maths support, to KS3 History and Maths tutoring, to running university application workshops and personal statement and interview support sessions for 17 year olds. This means I am very adaptable to the individual, and will adjust to what I think will benefit you most. We will usually take the tasks or areas of concern you are struggling with, and break them down into sections, tackling the basic foundations before bringing this together and looking at the original problem as a whole. There will be plenty of time for questions and feedback, and a chance to go back and retry activities once we have addressed these weaker points of note. I normally run hour long sessions. This can be a one-off, if there is a particular concern or topic you wish to tackle, or more regular sessions, for anyone aged 9-18.
