About Will
I am a Cambridge-educated Astrophysicist. I hold a Masters in Astrophysics, where I graduated with a High First (ranking 5th in my cohort), and this is backed by a BA in Mathematics also from the University of Cambridge.
With over 500 hours of tutoring experience, I help students build the deep conceptual understanding and sharp skills needed to excel. My goal is to make physics intuitive, exciting, and accessible whilst inspiring students to study physics and maths at University.
I specialise in helping students succeed in: A-Level Physics, University Admissions, Targeted preparation for entrance exams like the MAT, STEP, PAT (Physics Aptitude Test) for Oxford and Natural Sciences admissions (NSAA). I also can help with GCSE Physics & Combined Science: build a strong foundation.
University-Level Physics: Support for 1st and 2nd year undergraduates on topics ranging from dynamics, quantum mechanics to special and general relativity.
My personal scientific interest is in gravitational waves, cosmology, black holes and general relativity. My goal is to get you just as excited about this stuff too!

Physics is not a spectator sport. The key to mastering it is to tackle problems, ask "why?", and build intuition from the ground up. My lessons are designed to be collaborative and engaging.
I foster a supportive environment where you can explore challenging ideas without fear of failure, building your confidence with every session. What to expect from our lessons: Focus on First Principles: Instead of just memorising equations, we will break down complex topics to their fundamental principles. This "physicist's approach" ensures you can solve unfamiliar problems with confidence.
Problem-Solving Clinics: The majority of our time will be spent actively solving problems. We'll work through past paper questions and challenging examples, focusing on the techniques and strategies that earn top marks. Connecting Maths to Physics: My strong mathematical background allows me to clearly explain the 'language' of physics, helping you understand how the formulae work, not just what they are. This is the key to unlocking the most difficult topics.
Professional Online Setup: I use a digital whiteboard and interactive software for a seamless online learning experience, making it easy to work through diagrams, equations, and graphs together in real-time. Let's start building your confidence in Physics. Book your introductory session today!

I would highly recommend Will to anyone looking for an excellent tutor to boost both their confidence and grades. He is a patient and hardworking person, who makes sure to cater to all the needs of his students. With the help of his strong mathematical background, clear communication, and carefully planned lessons, you'll develop the problem solving skills needed for success in exams and interviews.
He helped me get through my entrance exam and do really well. I would highly recommend him
Will is a talented mathematician with a knack for giving simple solutions to hard problems. His enthusiasm and knowledge is contagious, and I always left his lessons feeling more confident about maths. Strongly recommend!
I've been fortunate enough to study maths alongside Will at Cambridge. Will has always been talented at explaining concepts, no matter how difficult they may seem. He includes examples and questions to keep you engaged, providing guidance without detracting from the joy of exploration of mathematics. Will is also always organised and punctual, making him a reliable and knowledgeable tutor.
Will is not only clearly very passionate about Maths, but also in teaching and communicating maths to others. He is able to explain difficult concepts in a way that makes it engaging and easy to understand. Speaking to Will will remind you how exciting studying maths can be, and with his guidance, working through a problem can turn from being frustrating to extremely satisfying. I cannot recommend Will more as a tutor.
Having studied together at the University of Cambridge, I know Will well. Will is an enthusiastic and patient person who uses his passion for mathematics to explain concepts in a way that makes them accessible and genuinely interesting. Beyond providing an explanation of key principles, Will encourages others to build on their understanding and what he has told them to guid them towards thinking critically to develop their own knowledge. Will regularly balances a wide variety of work with ease, making him well-suited to be a capable tutor.
