BA (Hons) Degree Geography, The University of Nottingham: 1st class
My main aim for tutoring sessions is to help build your confidence for you to see your potential to excel in Geography, whatever your future career path may be.
When I was at school, I struggled with confidence in my abilities, and if it were not for passionate and inspiring people who helped me I would not have been able to achieve 3 A's at A level (including Geography) and a first class degree in Geography from the University of Nottingham.
My predicted grades were far lower than this, but what I found made such a difference was having the support to really get the fundamental understanding of the core concepts and form this building my exam technique to structure my answers in a really effective way.
After graduating from University, I have worked at the University of Nottingham in a role where I was helping young people with their applications to university, and to build their personal vision for what they wanted to achieve in their future.

The aim of my lessons is to first support students with the core understanding of key areas in Geography, focusing on both areas of the natural world and human environment.
Through supporting students to build their confidence in the core understanding, I feel it's crucial to focus on how this can be applied to assignments and through developing exam technique to help students achieve their potential.
I am also trained in supporting students through the UCAS application process, in particular around writing a highly effective personal statement which is an essential part of the university admissions process. Working on personal statements is a process of helping students to develop 'their message' as individuals, showcasing their passion for their chosen subject and the value that they can bring to the university of their choice.
