About AHANA
I am a History student in higher education, currently completing a dual master's degree from Columbia University and London School of Economics. I graduated from the University of Warwick in 2023, with a First-Class degree in History and Politics. I am also experienced in studying Literature and writing, and particularly proficient in critical thinking and thesis structuring skills. I have an IELTS result of band 8, and have been studying in the UK and USA for the last five years. I have also completed writing courses from the University of IOWA. My experience of being in academia and studying the humanities, has allowed me to develop a strong and well-tested method for writing, reading, and comprehension. I am passionate about teaching and have been involved in university administration in ambassador and representative roles!

As a neurodivergent student with a tonne of experience within academia, I am able to understand the unique needs and strengths of each student, and craft my teaching approach accordingly. I am also more focused on comprehension and contextual understanding of subjects, which allows students to develop critical thinking and writing skills! I use practice tests in order to familiarise students with exam conditions; in combination with essay type assignments which help students to learn and practise writing skills. I use my own experiences of being in higher education to guide my approach to teaching, and this allows me to bring cutting edge methodologies to my students.
