About Flora
I am a young professional with a BA in Liberal Arts and a Master's in Art History. I'm also a Grade 8 pianist and singer! It is fair to say I have a very creative background. In addition, I've always been a self-motivated high achiever, getting all A*s in my GCSEs, 3 A*s at A-Level, and achieving first class marks at University. Most importantly however, I am a kind, outgoing and enthusiastic individual that feels my most fulfilled when helping students become the best they can be. With a deep understanding of ADHD, autism, and other learning differences, I tailor my lessons to each student's strengths, making learning feel natural and empowering. My approach goes beyond just teaching - I help build confidence, independence, and a love for the subject. If your child needs a tutor who is compassionate, adaptable, and committed to their success, I'm here to help. Let's unlock their full potential together!

I have a very relaxed attitude and am interested in nurturing students' interests and unique skills, as well as helping to develop and improve areas that need a little more work. It's important to me that lessons are positive and enjoyable, for students of all ages. I am a confident teacher of children aged 8 - 18, but am best suited to KS3 and GCSE, as I am very experienced in this area. It's important to me that there is a good balance between the academic and analytical elements of the English curriculum, and the creative side - I am more than happy to help students with their own personal writing too, whether it is short stories or poetry. I have experience with creative writing, journalism, and have achieved a first-class mark in both my BA and my Master's dissertation, and feel I am well qualified to help students achieve their full potential. With experience in both my teaching career and my personal life, I am well suited to neurodivergent students of all ages also. I am patient, flexible and tailor my teaching to each student's personal needs, prioritising what works for them.

Flora worked with my two children over the summer, providing invaluable support with their extracurricular English studies. For my eldest, she focused on poetry analysis in preparation for GCSE exams, while for my youngest, she helped strengthen SPaG (spelling, punctuation, and grammar) skills. Thanks to Flora’s patient yet enthusiastic approach, both children not only excelled in their classes but also developed a genuine enjoyment of the subject. Her ability to inspire confidence and foster a love of learning is truly exceptional, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Flora as a tutor.
