About Sam
Hi! I am a Mathematics graduate with a first-class degree from the University of Hertfordshire and an exchange year at California State University, Long Beach. I have tutored during my time at university on campus, and would regularly work with my peers to help them understand complex concepts in some of our modules. I love Mathematics and love to help people learn this beautiful subject.

My teaching method is relaxed and informal; while I can add structure if need be, I prefer to sit down with students and let them take the lead, explaining to me what the problems are, what they already know, and where they are getting stuck, before helping them to think about the concept in a different way and come up with their own solutions. I believe that everybody knows mathematics, you just have to push yourself to unlock that knowledge. I think it is very beneficial for students to really think about the problem at hand and gain a deep understanding of the underlying concepts rather than just learning the answers.
