About Caitlin
Hi there! I'm so glad you've checked out my profile, and hope to hear from you soon.
I am a Distinction MPhil graduate in Film/Philosophy at Trinity College Dublin (2021-22) and a First Class English BA graduate from King's College London (2018-21). I studied English Literature (A), History (A*), Spanish (A*), and Psychology (A*) at A-Level and so am keen to tutor any of these subjects for both GCSE and A-Level. I tutor English Literature to BA degree level, and for KS3, I am happy to tutor English, History, and Spanish. Alongside English, I studied Spanish B2 in the first year of my degree and have participated in an advanced Spanish class with UCL in order to refresh my knowledge.
I am super proud of my 2021/22 cohort of regular tutees, having seen all of them improve from their mock examination grades and most of them achieve their desired A-Level grades. These include a student with a 94% A* in the English Literature A-Level with OCR, one with a 49/50 A* in an AQA EPQ, and one who achieved an A/A* in all studied A-Level topics, amongst others.

I am very interested in tutee-led study. Everybody learns differently. I believe in combining subjective learning styles with the most effective methods for securing grades; such as the development of structural processes, learning memorisation techniques, and methods to satisfy examiners under time pressure as they mark. For those working towards exams, I am happy to approach the sessions in whatever manner that suits; whether that be content refresh, discussions about essays, exam technique, or more general revision. At degree level, my focus is mostly on reviewing work and advising about style, content, and written technique. I am lucky to have had voluntary experience working with younger students in hospital and so am used to working with a variety of ages.
