I am an enthusiastic and friendly tutor who specialises in helping children improve their creative thinking and language skills. I have achieved first-class undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from the University of Oxford, and have been a private tutor for five years, teaching subjects including English, Music and Maths.

Being able to express oneself in language and understand the written word are vital skills for life. I aim to empower students in their English learning by using gamified learning methods for vocabulary and making comprehension less of a dull analytical slog and more of a code-breaking exercise. I have taught English in-person and online, in both individual and group settings, with stellar student satisfaction. My lessons are usually an hour long, but I can be flexible where required.

I could honestly not recommend Sam enough. He helped my daughter understand complicated musical concepts by breaking them down into easy bits. This made her more able to figure out how to play her piano pieces. She really loved learning with him, and I would recommend him to anyone wanting to learn music theory.

Could not recommend Sam enough as a tutor! He managed to turn even the most daunting of my dissertation-related problems into easy, manageable tasks and worked incredibly hard to make sure I felt motivated and confident throughout our lessons. Despite picking a somewhat niche dissertation topic, Sam went above and beyond to ensure he had a firm grasp of the issues at hand so that we could have a fruitful discussion. If you ever feel lost or stuck with a dissertation, Sam will be an absolute lifesaver.
