About Tamara
I am a vet student currently in my first year of university, which means I am readily available and easy to reach for any questions or concerns you may have (this is also why my schedule is so flexible). During my gap year in 2022-2023, I took time to further my knowledge of maths and the sciences in order to prepare myself for my course, which means these subjects are fresh in my mind for our lessons. I also spent some of this time gaining experience working in academic settings and discovered that I have a passion for teaching, which I why I am currently enrolled in a peer mentoring programme. I am familiar with most curriculums but always happy to do my own research between sessions if there is something I am not familiar with, so feel free to challenge me with questions so we can make the most out of your learning.

I provide an adaptive and flexible approach to learning, using progress monitoring to ensure that my students are on track to meet their academic goals. I am more than happy to set additional work between our online sessions in order to maximise understanding by giving pupils the opportunity to apply their learning in their own time. My focus is currently on GCSE students, with the potential to move onto A-level work in the future.
My schedule is very flexible so my lessons can be at any time of the day, and can range from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on what the parents, students, and I find appropriate on an individual basis.
During my 2 years at college and my gap year, I spent time working with children of all ages in a variety of educational settings, including being a reading mentor for Key Stage 2/3, a teaching assistant for Years 7-11, and an educational farmhand at a children's farm.
