Session Structure…
I have always believed balance to be essential when designing courses. Too much time spent on one skill can be boring and counterproductive. I like to focus on a range of learning objectives or skills in one session. I use the different phases of the session to focus on a learner's areas of weakness.
Session Structure:
1.Pronunciation (of targeted sounds)
2.Reading for Fluidity and Comprehension
3.Writing with Purpose (if requested)
4.Discussion
A Note on Resources and Materials…
I am continuously working to improve the experience of my sessions. I of course want the learning experience to be as beneficial as possible for you. We therefore choose reading materials together so that they have relevance to you and your interests. That could be newspaper articles, magazines, or novels for example. Children can browse and choose stories and non-fiction books from more than 40,000 book titles!
Expect to use some really useful and unique teaching / home-study materials too!
