About Tolu
I've always loved business, probably because my dad made me the secretary of his garage when I was about 8 years old.
During my GCSEs I was surprised that I did so well because I didn't work as hard as I would have liked in some subjects despite revising up until the last second for every exam. Luckily for me I had always been academic. When it came to my AS Levels however that luck ran out and I failed Maths and French. I was heartbroken and convinced my life was over especially considering those were two of my best subjects. Fortunately with the support of my school and my parents I was signed up to a three-day maths boot camp. It was harder than school but it was an opportunity that showed me extra tuition makes a difference.
I made friends with someone that was extremely good at Maths and he became my tutor. Every saturday morning for one year in the library, I worked on my weaknesses until they became strengths, and as if by magic, I converted my E grade to a C.
At uni I tutored English Language, Maths and Economics and got to return that magical feeling. Now as a teacher I work on getting pupils to convert their weaknesses to strengths daily.
