About Hannah
Hi there! My name is Hannah. When I was just seventeen, I founded the Reno Alliance for Free Tutoring, an organization of over 100 volunteers that provides cost-free educational support in all subjects to youth in my region. Since then, I've been a committed educator in classrooms (and living rooms, and fields and mountains!) of all shapes and styles. As a STEM teacher, I provided a classroom-based camp experience centered on hands-on learning to youth aged 1st-3rd grade. As a writing consultant, I provided face-to-face and written feedback to writers ranging from incoming university freshmen to adult English learners. As an outdoor educator, I taught exciting science concepts through projects and games in the great outdoors. Now, I provide tutoring in English, history, and the humanities.
My philosophy centers on that idea that every student has unique needs. I start by listening, and I tailor each session and lesson plan to the student in front of me. I can't wait to meet you!

I have experience teaching folks from kindergarten all the way to college and adult learners, at every language level and from background. Whoever you are, you're welcome here.
My adaptable approach sets my lessons apart. If you need a structured lesson regimen, I'll prepare lesson plans ahead of time and share them with you or your family for review to ensure that your objectives are heard, centered, and achieved. A typical lesson plan would start with a reflection about last session's material, a goal-setting checkpoint for the session, material review, applied learning, and a reflection activity. I'm not dependent on lesson plans to meet your goals. If you need day-to-day homework help or English conversation practice, we'll approach sessions case by case, highlighting your interests, challenges, and goals each lesson.
