About Poncho
Training sessions are based on the age and experience of the athlete. Prior to the first session, I will establish a dialogue with the athlete and/or parent to determine the athlete's skill level. During this discussion, we also have an "expectation setting" discussion to determine exactly what are the athlete's goals, and what they are looking to achieve as a result of the training. Once the athlete's skill level has been determined, I will design a training program consisting of skill development drills and workouts tailor-made for the athlete. DO NOT BE TURNED AWAY DUE TO MY TRAINING RATES. I AM ONE OF, IF NOT THE BEST AND MOST DETAILED TRAINER IN CALIFORNIA. I GUARANTEE THAT WITH THE HIGHER RATE, COMES A HIGHER DEGREE OF TRAINING!
The purpose of EVERY session is for the athlete to become better than they were before that session. How do we do that? The athletes learn, and have fun while learning! It is also VERY important for me to see that my young athletes become better as young men and women! I will always check with them on how they are doing in school!
No two athletes are the same, and that is the mindset with which I approach my athletes. As such, my athletes' training programs will be based on their basketball position, level of skill they possess, as well as the level of skill they are interested in achieving.

I am a U.S.A BASKETBALL CERTIFIED youth development coach who has trained basketball players of all ages and skill levels for a number of years; including my son who was a 1st Round Pick in the 2014 National Basketball Association draft. I am also a 94 FEET OF GAME certified coach, through the great NBA skill development coach Phil Handy. I specialize in individual and group training sessions for ages from 5 years old on up, and for varying skill levels of athletes from middle school, high school, college, professional and MIDDLE AGE! The only thing which rivals my knowledge of the game is my PASSION for this game! This passion is what drives me to be the best basketball skill developer in the business! Learn and Have Fun...Have Fun Learning.
