About Owen
I'm Owen, an experienced violin tutor currently teaching at a music institution in Melbourne. With over 15 students under my guidance, ranging in age from 3 to 50 years old, I am dedicated to helping each individual pursue their musical aspirations. Recognizing that every student has unique goals, I craft personalized plans tailored to their specific needs, striving to guide them towards success.
I am proud to have facilitated the achievement of ABRSM Grade 3 and Grade 5 certifications for several students within a year's time. Additionally, one of my students attained an A grade in the AMEB syllabus, while another adult student progressed from beginner level to a B grade within just one year.
Drawing from my 17 years of experience playing the violin, I possess a deep understanding of various syllabi and technical skills associated with violin mastery.

You'll have the liberty to select pieces that inspire you, and together, we'll work towards mastering them. Spanning from classical to contemporary, the repertoire is extensive, enabling you to discover your musical preferences and develop your unique style.
Technical proficiency plays a pivotal role in fully expressing yourself on the violin. Through dedicated practice, we'll concentrate on honing your technical skills, allowing you to produce a vibrant and resonant sound. Whether it's bowing techniques or finger placement, every aspect of violin playing will be meticulously addressed to assist you in achieving your desired tone and expression.
For students preparing for violin exams, particularly those following the ABRSM/AMEB syllabus, my lessons are strategically designed to support your success. I will methodically guide you through the exam requirements, ensuring that you are thoroughly prepared and self-assured in your abilities.
