About Dang
Hello! I'm Danny, a fourth-year Biochemistry student from the University of Virginia. I'm incredibly passionate about STEM, and I love helping students find that "aha!" moment when a difficult concept finally clicks. My goal isn't just to help you get a better grade, but to build your confidence and develop a genuine curiosity for the subject. I know that STEM can be intimidating and my goal is to create a supportive and stress-free learning environment where you feel comfortable asking questions.
Subjects I Teach:
- Chemistry: High School Chemistry, AP Chemistry, College-level General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry
- Biology: High School Biology, AP Biology
- Math: Middle School Math, Algebra I & II, Trigonometry, AP Calculus AB and BC
- Test Prep: SAT Math
My Experience: I've tutored students for the last four years, and have taught students of all ages, ranging from middle schoolers to undergraduate students. I currently work as a part-time Peer Tutor in the Department of Chemistry at UVA, and I have also been a TA for General Chemistry.
My Teaching Method: My approach is different for all of my students, because I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We'd start by identifying your specific goals and learning style, which will help my design engaging lessons to help the material stick better.

My approach as a tutor is to aid a deeper, conceptual understanding of the material. This includes a mix of lecture and tailor-made practice problems that test student's ability to apply basic principles to difficult examples. Lessons differ from student to student, but a typical lesson with me includes about an even split of lecture and practice-problems. My lessons are for students of chemistry or mathematics ranging from middle school all the way to undergraduate studies who strive for a deeper understanding of their course material.
