- My lessons focus on building a foundation in vocabulary and grammar before transitioning to spontaneous speaking in order to build conversation skills.
- Generally, I will introduce students to vocabulary lists and grammar in assignments that are ideally completed before the tutoring session. We will then do activities during the tutoring session to practice using these concepts, during which I heavily emphasize conversation. Occasionally I will do a lecture-based session if the assignment shows the student is struggling, during which they can ask me questions and we can do an in-depth review of concepts. I also try to incorporate lessons on different aspects of French culture and the cultures of other French-speaking activities through vocabulary and grammar lessons.
- I have received the Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy for French language, am in the final year of my BA in French and Anthropology, and I have spent significant time abroad in French-speaking countries.
- My lessons are generally geared towards high-school students of any French language level.
