About Ophelia
My interest in the French language began with a curiosity about international communication and cultural expression. This curiosity inspired me to complete a Master’s Degree in French Studies, where I explored literature, language structure, and cultural history. During my 9 years of teaching, I have worked with students from many backgrounds, helping them develop confidence in speaking and understanding French.
I believe language learning should be encouraging and interactive. My teaching style focuses on creating a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and practicing conversation. Each learner has different goals, so I adapt lessons to match their pace and interests. Some students want to travel and communicate easily, while others want stronger academic language skills.
Outside the classroom, I continue reading French books, watching French films, and exploring cultural traditions connected to the language. These experiences help me bring authentic material into my lessons. Teaching French is rewarding because I see students gradually gain confidence and enjoy communicating in a new language.

My French lessons focus on helping students feel confident speaking and understanding the language in everyday situations. I begin by introducing basic pronunciation, greetings, and useful vocabulary that learners can apply immediately in conversation. Through short dialogues, listening activities, and simple sentence building, students gradually become comfortable forming their own expressions. Grammar rules are explained clearly and supported with practical examples so that learners understand how to apply them naturally.
As students progress, lessons begin to include deeper language skills such as verb conjugation, descriptive vocabulary, and longer conversational practice. Reading short texts helps learners strengthen comprehension while discovering new expressions. Writing exercises also help students organize their ideas and practice grammar in meaningful ways. I provide supportive feedback that helps learners improve steadily without feeling overwhelmed.
My goal is to create lessons that combine language learning with cultural appreciation. Students are introduced to aspects of French culture, expressions, and communication styles. Over time they gain the ability to understand conversations, respond confidently, and express their ideas clearly in French. The language becomes a useful tool for travel, study, and connecting with people from different cultures.
