About Maia
My passion for French started with a fascination for the language, literature, and diverse Francophone cultures. I earned an M.A in French Language and Cultural Studies, which provided a deep understanding of grammar, phonetics, literature, and cultural contexts. Over 10 years of teaching, I have worked with learners of all ages and proficiency levels, helping them build fluency, confidence, and cultural knowledge while fostering a love for the language.
I teach with patience, clarity, and adaptability, emphasizing interactive, meaningful, and culturally informed learning. Lessons combine structured exercises with engaging activities that help students practice communication, refine pronunciation, and internalize grammar naturally. I focus on developing both accuracy and expressive confidence, ensuring learners can communicate effectively in diverse situations.
Outside the classroom, I stay immersed in French literature, media, and cultural events to bring authentic and up-to-date experiences into lessons. Teaching French is deeply rewarding because I witness students develop not only language proficiency but also cultural understanding and self-confidence, empowering them to communicate naturally and enjoy the richness of Francophone cultures.
