About Lara
I began my high school education in Turkey and in French at Sainte Pulcherie high school. I completed 11th and 12th grade in Canada in french high schools. Now I'm in Turkey as I continue on my university online at the University of Montreal.
I started giving private lessons this year. My goal is to be with you as a sister and friend rather than an educator. I believe that we could have enjoyable lessons with anyone who is curious and excited about learning.
I especially aim to assist new beginners in high school and those who are new to learning french. I can also provide education consultancy to those who want to continue their education abroad. I would be very happy to guide you with my experience.
I have a C1 (5th out of 6) diploma from DELF, which is a French language skills exam. My English is equally advanced.

The first lesson we draw a plan together. We determine how we will reach our goal with questions such as what is expected from the lessons, what is our purpose, and what level is desired to be reached. I will look briefly at your learning style. Verbal / visual memory, way of concentrating, etc. Accordingly, I choose my training method and the resources I provide.
My goal: To spend a learning hour in the most efficient way.
- I like to give an entertaining lesson with different activities rather than just an information pile. For example, we watch French videos together, read articles or make small daily life dialogues.
Note taking: -I take notes in the lessons, teach by writing, then share these notes.
- I suggest making a notebook in which the newly learned words and verbs will be written, we add new to the notebook together each lesson.
Homework: -We review what we have learned at the end of the lesson and i give additional studies. We check the assignments I gave in the next lesson. - My expectation from the student, especially for beginners, is to memorize what is learned in each lesson until the next one. When learning a new language, memorizing is necessary to introduce that language to our brain. Like every new thing we learn, it will be difficult at first, but we have to force ourselves so that we can proceed much more comfortably afterwards :)
-I do little quizzes to reinforce what we have learned and see the progress.
My Sources: - My lecture notes from the time I started to learn French - Books I received from Canadian schools - Educational platforms on the Internet
Content: - In the first lessons, I introduce French briefly, I teach certain subjects such as greeting, self-introduction, letters, numbers, colors, and then we switch to grammar. (Of course it varies from person to person, depending on what is desired) -Speaking styles and accents are very important in French. Optionally, accents can be focused on. I can introduce the Canadian French accent. It is my favorite subject to teach :)
