I have a very practical view on teaching a language.
The methods being used will depend of your end goal and how fast you want to learn. I found out the best thing is to learn a bit everyday, which is a hard thing to do based on how disciplined you are, so I succesfully had some French conversations in Whatsapp with some of my students. When we meet for the lesson (frequency will depend of you) I can then point out some mistakes or how French people would write this or that. I found this approach to be very efficient.
