About Antoine
My name is Antoine, I am a French native speaker from one of the Overseas Territories of France, l’Île de la Réunion, in the Indian Ocean.
I have a strong academic background, having undertaken my undergraduate studies in one of the most prestigious political studies institutes of France, Sciences Po Bordeaux; followed by a Master’s Degree in Politics from the University of Manchester. Both my dissertations were comparative studies of the French and British political systems, the first looking at possible crisis of democracy, and the second focused on a historical institutional analysis of the Far Right in both countries.
I have been a local school governor for the past couple of years and working alongside teachers, understanding their passion and sense of duty has inspired me. I would love to be able to help and support students in their academic journey, to assist them in meeting their goals and preparing them for their higher education adventures.
I am easy going and I would like my lessons to be as interactive and engaging as possible, making sure that each student gets a personalised learning experience, and linking the subjects to current events and areas of particular interest for them.

As a French native speaker, I can bring a natural perspective to learning the language, providing cultural context and references. I will ensure lessons are tailored to individual students, taking into consideration goals and learning profiles.
Depending on students’ particular interests and preferences, I would also suggest and recommend staples of French literature. I can also prepare students for university level French, should this be their chosen degree.

Perfect! Antoine is exactly the kind of tutor I felt I needed - a native French speaker, friendly and knowledgeable. I am probably not the most likely student, being a retired grandfather aiming to stave off dementia by exercising my limited French, but I am sure that Antoine would fit in well with students of any age and different needs.
