About Lilah

My name is Lilah, I’m 21 years old, and I would love to be your next French tutor!!!

I grew up and did all of my schooling in France. Later on I started studying economics at university in a programme taught entirely in English, and I’m now studying mathematics and programming in St Andrews, so again all taught in English. My life is basically a mix of languages, numbers, and a lot of coffee!! I started learning English quite early and I also speak German, which means I know what it’s like to learn a language and sometimes feel completely lost. French can sometimes feel intimidating to learn, maybe partly because of French people... I intend to break this reputation and offer you lessons where you can speak, make mistakes, laugh about them, and slowly become more confident. My goal is simple: help you feel comfortable speaking French and actually enjoy learning it, because it might be the most beautiful language in the world (absolutely non-biased!). Whether you want conversation practice, help with grammar, or preparation for exams, we’ll find a way to make it work for you. Lessons are available online, and all levels are welcome.

About the lesson

I offer French tutoring for students and adults who want to improve their speaking, grammar, and overall confidence in French. I can help with school exams, conversation practice, or general language learning. Lessons are available online or in person in St Andrews. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’re interested!

I've known Lilah since high school, and I can say with confidence that she is an exceptional French teacher. Her spoken and written French are both impeccable, and she has a natural command of the language that is evident. Having studied for the baccalaureate alongside her, I also witnessed first-hand her remarkable ability as a literature analyst; her critical thinking and analytical writing were consistently singled out for praise by our teachers.

What sets Lilah apart is not just her linguistic ability, but her capacity to develop French thinking: the kind of structured engagement with the language and its literature that takes most people years to build. If you are looking to genuinely elevate your French, whether in fluency, precision, or intellectual depth, I cannot recommend her highly enough!
