One of my most remarkable techniques is using authentic materials, information gap exercises, language games, role plays, and activities that create opportunities to communicate and the target language and also use dialogue memorization and using of minimal pairs and overlearning and I consist of habit formation drills: backward build-up, chain, single and multi-slot substitution, and transformation.
Even if there's no time I support the 80/20 rule which helps students to communicate through dialogues and language learning mimicry( by a focus on meaning) because I want students to practice and broke the effective filter As Socrates '' corrected, evaluated, and taught, delving into various and varied topics, according to the number of divergent opinions and the different ways of the world around them.
I motivate my students by making the students aware of their responsibility, setting goals, creating a safe environment, changing the space of learning, creating an atmosphere of fair competition between my students, and getting to know the students (by name, or age.....) but by giving their confidence and making an impact on his behavior in the classroom and thud his learning process.
I use different strategies such as 'warm language' and 'teacher talk ': Personalizing the class, talking about ideas, not around them, I keep things conversational and I try to create a clear image or idea that students can relate to.
I use warm-up, guided practice Independent practice, and assessment activities, in my lesson plan: One of my TESOL/ESL activities is'' information gap'' which means that one person who does have the information will help the others who don't have it to create the interaction between them, The classic jigsaw; by dividing students into 4 groups ( 1,2,3,4) by giving each one of them one role to allow interaction between students and nomination one monitor who gives the guidance and answering the questions.
Dictation is a method that encourages '' the Audio lingual approach'' or memorizing techniques that simply mean'' Write down what I'm saying
My warm-up activities are ''Written Prompt on the whiteboard, Pictorial Prompt, Scrambled sentence Strips, My guided practice activities: Alphabet soup, the Co-question Salute, backward fading, because students can't simply do exactly what immediately the teacher says, So my activities take shapes to breach down more difficult tasks. My independent activities are tests, presentations, compositions, and projects so my students could show what they have learned. Between summative and formative assessments, I use error codes and technologies to make my life easier and organize a meeting to correct my students who struggle, and guide them after class.
