About Lyle
I've been tutoring formally and informally for over 10 years, and have three years' experience as a teaching assistant at the University of Manchester. I've always enjoyed teaching and find it so rewarding to see students gain confidence and skill in the subject areas I love.
My Qualifications:
PhD -- Theoretical Physics: University of Manchester,
Masters -- Maths and Physics: University of Manchester. Overall grade: First class Honours (in the top 5% of the year).

My tutoring style focuses on building confidence and skill through doing lots of example problems at the right level of difficulty for the student. A typical lesson with me centres around some carefully chosen example questions in a given subject area. Many of the example questions I go through with students are from past papers, as this both helps us to learn the subject matter and gain familiarity with the specific types of question that may be asked. Overall, I try to make sure that lessons are enjoyable (or at least not not enjoyable; I know not everyone likes maths and physics, and that's OK!), interesting, and that they do not feel too pressurised or formal.

Perfect! Amazing tutor, made sure I understood every part of the subject. Great tutor for the Edexcel spec, Often stops and explains in different ways and teach methods to tackle a question that suits how my brain works. Managed to bump my B in further maths to an A despite me only having a bit more than a month to study for the retake.
