About April
Hey, I'm April it's lovely to meet you. I'm 33 and live in Sheffield with my rescue dog and 2 cats. I'd love to hear more about your pets if you have any! I am a qualified teacher and have taught at secondary schools and colleges as well as online tutoring. If you have any questions please just get in touch -there is no such thing as a silly question!

Hi! I’m a fully qualified secondary school teacher offering fun and supportive lessons in KS3 and GCSE Maths and Biology. I’ve worked with learners of all ages and abilities in schools, colleges, and through online tutoring, so I know how to adapt lessons to suit different needs.
I specialise in helping students who feel anxious about their learning or just need a boost of confidence. My calm, friendly approach creates a relaxed space where you can ask anything (no such thing as a silly question here!). I believe learning works best when it’s engaging and enjoyable, and my goal is always to help you feel confident and make real progress.
A little about me: I have a degree in Biomedical Science and a PGCE in Secondary Science from Sheffield University. Outside of teaching, I love walking with my dog Poppy (I’d love to hear about your pets too!), going to gigs, travelling both in the UK and abroad, and occasionally dragging myself to the gym.
In our sessions, I can help you with tricky topics, revision techniques, and exam-style questions. To make sure I’m fully prepared, I just ask that you let me know which topics you’d like to cover at least two days before our first lesson.
