About Shamim
I am a dedicated and approachable tutor with a strong passion for helping children build confidence in their learning. I understand that primary school can be a crucial time for developing core skills in English, and I aim to support students in a way that feels encouraging, structured and enjoyable.
I have a strong academic background in English and take pride in my clear communication, patience and ability to explain things in a simple and understandable way. I am particularly focused on creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and are not afraid to make mistakes, as this is an important part of learning.
I am reliable, organised and committed to helping each student reach their full potential. Whether a child needs extra support, wants to improve their confidence, or is preparing for assessments, I work closely with them to ensure they feel supported every step of the way.
My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them develop a more positive attitude towards learning that will benefit them long-term.

I offer engaging and supportive online English lessons for primary school children, focusing on building confidence as well as improving key skills in reading, spelling and test preparation.
My teaching approach is patient, structured and adapted to each child’s individual needs. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit their pace and learning style. I use a mix of guided reading, interactive activities and repetition techniques to help students strengthen their understanding while keeping lessons enjoyable and motivating.
For reading, I focus on comprehension, fluency and helping students feel confident when reading aloud. For spelling, I use proven techniques such as breaking words into patterns, repetition and memory strategies. When preparing for tests such as SATs, I work on exam-style questions, time management and reducing anxiety so students feel more prepared and capable.
Lessons are typically 45 minutes to 1 hour long, allowing enough time to cover key material while maintaining focus and energy. I ensure each session has a clear goal and ends with a sense of progress.
My lessons are ideal for primary school students of all abilities, whether they need extra support, want to improve their confidence, or are preparing for upcoming assessments.
I am a friendly, reliable and encouraging tutor with strong communication skills, and I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
