About Holly

Hi! I’m Holly, a native English speaker from the UK

I’m friendly, patient and easy-going, and I’d love to help you feel more comfortable and confident speaking English. I currently work in local government and have over six years of experience in customer-facing roles, so I’m used to speaking with people from all different backgrounds, explaining things clearly and adapting the way I communicate.

Outside of work, I love travelling, reading, journalling, crochet and spending time with my two cats. I also love meeting new people and learning about different cultures, so I’m really looking forward to chatting with students from around the world!

Although I’m new to professional English tutoring, communication has been a huge part of my career. I have lots of experience helping people understand information, answering questions and making conversations feel comfortable, especially when someone might be nervous or unsure.

About the lesson

My lessons will be relaxed, supportive and tailored to you. I can help with conversational English, British English, vocabulary, pronunciation, everyday phrases and building confidence when speaking.

I particularly want to create a space where you don’t have to worry about making mistakes. We can have natural conversations, work through topics you find difficult and focus on the English that will actually be useful in your everyday life.

Whether you want structured practice or simply want someone friendly to practise speaking English with, we can adapt our lessons to suit the way you learn best.

Learning a language can feel intimidating, especially when you understand more than you feel confident speaking. My aim is to make our lessons somewhere you can practise without feeling judged or embarrassed.

We’ll focus on your goals. Whether that's feeling more comfortable having conversations, improving your pronunciation, expanding your vocabulary, preparing to visit or live in the UK, or simply sounding more natural when you speak.

You don't need perfect English before booking a lesson, that's what the lessons are for!
