About Alona
I am a Technical Project Manager with a background in Computer Software Engineering and experience working in software delivery, digital transformation, and healthcare technology projects.
Throughout my career, I have often worked as a bridge between technical and non-technical people, helping teams understand complex systems in a clearer and more practical way. Over time, I realised that I genuinely enjoy explaining technology, supporting learners, and helping people build confidence step by step.
I decided to start tutoring because many people feel intimidated by technology and believe they are ‘not technical enough’ to learn Computing or digital skills. I believe learning should feel supportive, structured, and practical rather than stressful or overwhelming.
Alongside my professional work, I have experience mentoring colleagues, supporting workshops, and working with learners of different ages and backgrounds. I especially enjoy helping beginners and adult learners discover that technology can become much more approachable than it first seems.

I focus on building understanding and confidence step by step in a calm and supportive environment. Lessons are adapted to each student’s goals, confidence level, and learning style, with plenty of practical exercises based on real-world tasks rather than abstract memorisation.
I use a range of digital tools and interactive platforms during lessons to make learning more engaging and easier to follow. My aim is not only to explain concepts, but also to help students feel more comfortable and independent with technology over time.
The first lesson is offered free of charge and is used to understand the student’s current level, learning goals, and areas of interest. Together we create a personalised learning plan with realistic goals and a comfortable learning pace.
