About Sophie
I graduated from Oxford University in 2018 with a strong First in History, and before that achieved high A* grades in A-Level English, History, and Religion & Philosophy. At the core of my tutoring are practical ways to improve verbal communication, particularly essay-writing, which will help the student learn how to express themselves clearly, and prepare for University-level academic writing.

My tutoring practice is student-centred, as I believe finding your own best practices, rather than regurgitating someone else's, a vital to becoming a strong academic writer. My tutoring is therefore very flexible based on the needs of the student - one size fits all barely works for socks, so why would it work for people? My strengths lie in helping with homework, essay coaching, improving vocabulary, exam confidence, as well as helping with general comprehension of curriculum material. Together, myself and the student can establish what they most want to develop, and we can take it from there.
