About Kate
Hi! My name is Kate, and I'm a highly experienced Chemistry and Maths tutor with a PhD in Chemistry and experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including research at GSK and work in pharmaceutical consulting. I also hold a Master's degree in Chemistry from the University of Durham.
Over the years, I’ve combined my academic background and professional experience with my passion for teaching, supporting GCSE and A-Level students, as well as university undergraduates, to strengthen their understanding, improve exam performance, and develop confidence in STEM subjects.

I offer personalised, interactive tutoring in Chemistry and Maths, drawing on my PhD in Chemistry, pharmaceutical experience and years of tutoring GCSE and A-Level students. My lessons are structured yet flexible, designed to make complex concepts understandable, engaging, and enjoyable.
I ensure each session is tailored to your child's needs, combining clear explanations, problem-solving strategies, and real-life examples to reinforce understanding. Whether your goal is mastering tricky topics, improving exam performance, or building confidence in STEM subjects, I approach every lesson with patience and creativity, while always keeping results in focus.
Lessons are typically 60–90 minutes long, delivered at a pace that suits each student, in an interactive and welcoming environment where I ensure they feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas. My approach supports students at all stages, from those building their foundations in Chemistry and Maths to GCSE and A-Level learners.
With a friendly, approachable style and a proven track record, I strive to make every lesson both effective and enjoyable, helping students reach their academic goals, while inspiring enthusiasm and confidence.
