About Danann
Hi everyone! I am currently a student at the University of Manchester studying a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I find my subject fascinating and very rewarding, hence the reason why I enjoy and love my degree so much. I have always had a huge passion for Physics, Maths and Chemistry, I never seem to get bored while studying these subjects. Ever since primary school, one of my main methods of studying has always been teaching others such as friends and peers. I find that when I tutor a friend of mine, there is not only a sense of reward, but it also helps with revision on the subject. My past tutoring experience have included helping out younger year groups, usually around GCSE level, while I was in sixth form studying for my A-Levels. This was a very useful and fulfilling experience, as I got to help specific classes that were struggling, so that they would eventually be more prepared and confident with their GCSE exams. I find that a balanced lifestyle is very important. Therefore, I believe there should be some form of exercise, as well as university work in your everyday life. I have a large interest in sports, hence I play for the university and malaysian society volleyball team, as well as play for a 5-aside football team every Monday. These activities help me to de-stress and to take some time out from university, which can sometimes get quite tense and tiring.

Firstly, I will request for the areas the student is struggling and need additional help with. I will then do some personal research on the topic itself, making sure everything I teach is required by the syllabus. Next, I will create some slides with worked examples if needed and work through the exercises with the student. At the end of the session, I will ask for feedback from the student to gauge how well I have taught, as well as any imrpovements shown by the student in the respective topic area. Lastly, I will be able to use this feedback to plan and create future tutoring sessions.
