About Sam

Hi! I'm Sam, an English tutor with a passion for helping students grow in confidence and fluency. I hold a 200-hour TEFL certification and have experience helping learners, especially those from Chinese-speaking backgrounds, prepare for exams like the PTE and improve their everyday English. My lessons are friendly, flexible, and focused on your goals, whether you're preparing for a test, improving conversation skills, or working on grammar and writing. I love making English feel approachable and fun, and I always tailor each session to fit your learning style. Outside of teaching, I enjoy going to the gym, playing badminton, and learning Mandarin Chinese. I know how challenging learning a new language can be, and I'm here to support you throughout your language learning journey.

About the lesson

I hold a 200-hour TEFL certification and have completed advanced training in teaching English grammar and communicative methodology. My teaching experience includes working with students from beginner to upper-intermediate levels, with a strong focus on helping Chinese-speaking learners improve fluency, grammar, and confidence, especially in preparation for exams like the PTE.

My teaching style follows the PPP method (Presentation, Practice, Production), which means I introduce language clearly, guide students through practice activities, and help them use the language in natural, real-life situations. I balance correction and encouragement, making sure students feel supported while also being challenged to grow.
